These are the words often used by clinicians and patients to describe Chairwork Psychotherapy. Building on over 60 years of rich tradition, 15 years of international trainings, countless hours of applied clinical practice, and ongoing collaborative innovation and development, the Chairwork Psychotherapy Initiative has lauched the world’s first Chairwork Psychotherapy Certification Program.

The CPI Certification provides attendees with a complete foundation of Chairwork practice, supporting framework, and underlying theory. Certified clinicians will be able to use their gained knowledge to creatively apply Chairwork with any clinical issue that arises in therapy.

Our Certification program was created to empower and prepare any clinician who may want to develop their mastery of Chairwork in order to adopt it as a standalone psychotherapeutic modality. Clinicians who want to practice Chairwork as an integrative technique with their existing chosen modalities will also be empowered and supported so that they may practice this way of healing with more confidence and creativity.

In addition to in-depth lectures, the CPI Certification includes:

  • Clinical Demonstrations

  • Didactic Group Practices with Live support/feedback from the facilitators

  • Group Discussions and Q&A

  • Continuing Education Credits (number of credits listed on each event’s registration page)

Participants will also receive a Certification Training Manual, CPI Certificate of Completion, and exclusive invitations to online CPI Community events and group consultations.

Be a part of this exciting movement and join our community of over 350 clinicians who have already completed Level 1 of their Chairwork certification journey!

  • We first came up with the idea for a certification program in 2020 and, after years distilling and refining the training content, we have designed modules that we feel encompass the essential and foundational knowledge that is needed to have real competency and efficacy in Chairwork Psychotherapy. We have sought to construct an elegant, deep, and empowering approach to psychotherapy that clinicians can use to become more effective, courageous, and creative in their clinical work.

In our three-day certification trainings, we will explore the use of the Four Dialogues framework to resolve inner conflicts, work through traumatic experiences, cope with difficult relationships, and give voice to different parts. This framework provides clinicians with a clear and structured way to conceptualize clinical issues and move forward with guided action. If you have felt stagnant in your clinical practice, uncertain in your next steps, or even anxious regarding challenging clinical issues, then the CPI certification training may be a great fit for you.

Dr. Scott Kellogg, ISST-Certified Advanced Schema Therapist, can be considered one of the most influential clinicians and leaders in the Chairwork renaissance.
