Level 2 Chairwork Psychotherapy Certification Training

Participant clinicians will gain the skill to work with challenging cases, particularly those involving self-hatred and complex trauma. Level 1 Chairwork Psychotherapy Certification Training

The CPI Level 1 certification training is designed to introduce therapists to the practice of Chairwork, in an active, creative, and compelling manner using clinical storytelling, didactic group practice, and unrehearsed, live clinical demonstrations. Participants who complete this training will not only gain immediately applicable clinical skills, but also they will have improved confidence and a sense of freedom to tackle even the most difficult therapeutic issues.

We have sought to establish an elegant, deep, and empowering approach to psychotherapy that clinicians can use to become more effective, courageous, and creative in their work. In this three-day, intensive certification training, we will explore the use of different dialogue strategies for: Inner Suffering, Trauma, Difficult Relationships, and Parts Work. We will share our easy-to-understand clinical framework to 1) outline the therapist’s stance; 2) define the core issues in psychotherapy, and 3) distill the core dialogue forms of Chairwork Psychotherapy. Learning Chairwork Psychotherapy provides clinicians with a clear, structurally organized way to conceptualize clinical issues and move forward with guided action. Working with Trauma, Working with Addictions: Strategies from Chairwork Psychotherapy

“Addiction is often, if not usually, a response to trauma." – Dr. Andrew Tatarsky

In this free webinar we will introduce the practice of Chairwork and Parts Work with brief history and general clinical guidelines. We will then discuss the unique application of Chairwork when working with unresolved traumatic memories. Following that, we will show how Polarity Dialogues can be used to engage with ambivalence and increase the motivation to change. A live, unrehearsed clinical demonstration and a group discussion will be included.

Chairwork, with its roots in Psychodrama and Gestalt Therapy, is currently undergoing a world-wide renaissance. We believe Chairwork can be an important method of healing and change for those working in Behavioral Health. In this free, two-hour CE webinar, Amanda Garcia Torres, LMHC, will introduce clinicians to the use of Repetitive, Third-Person Storytelling as a method for engaging with and integrating traumatic and disturbing memories that are still haunting the patient.

In turn, Scott Kellogg, PhD, will show how Polarity Dialogues can be used to engage with ambivalence and increase the motivation to change. The webinar will include brief didactic presentations and unrehearsed, live clinical demonstrations with volunteer participants.

Treating Trauma Using Chairwork and Parts Work - Online Workshop

Working with trauma and PTSD can be challenging and, at times, overwhelming for many clinicians. Clinicians may find themselves navigating intense emotional landscapes, where some methods can fall short. Chairwork, an experiential method experiencing a global renaissance, offers a powerful and dynamic approach for trauma survivors. Clients can engage more deeply with their emotions, build inner stability, and experience genuine breakthroughs and lasting recovery.

Our workshop will give participants readily applicable experiential techniques to treat even the most difficult trauma cases. Participants will learn how to practice Chairwork and Parts Work via clinical storytelling, group practice, and unrehearsed, live clinical demonstrations.

In this two-day online workshop we will explore the use of dialogue strategies for these common dilemmas: traumatic memories, unresolved grief, difficult coping modes, and development of self-compassion.

This ONLINE WORKSHOP will offer 9 CEs.

This webinar is open to clinicians, grad students, psychology/mental health interns, and other helping professionals.
